Nearby Activities
---
There's no shortage of nature-based activities near Lakeshore Resort.
Here's a few of our favorites:
Boating & Swimming

- Boat Launches: You'll find public boat launches 5 minutes in either directions (Antlers and Sugarloaf)
- Marinas & Rentals: Antlers is the closest marina to dock your boat or rent
- Swimming: You can jump in the lake just 1 minute in either direction at 2 different calm inlets. We do not offer direct lake access due to a steep slope.
Caves

- Shasta Caverns: We highly recommend this tour as it combines nature, views, history, and exploration. It starts with a very scenic boat ride across a mountainous stretch of the lake. Then, a scenic bus ride up the mountain, with very unique lake views. At the cave's entrance, you begin your 45-minute tour of various caverns with impressive geological features. Learn more.
Hiking & Biking

- Hike: We recommend driving just 25 minutes north to Castle Crags State Park. Find the Forest Service's full list of Shasta-area hikes here.
- Mountain Biking: There are plenty of scenic Forest Service roads to explore on your mountain bike. Check out the Forest Service's full list here.
Waterfalls

We highly recommend visiting these two falls:
- McCloud River Falls: Beautiful three-tiered falls with an easy hiking loop. 50 minutes away
- Burney Falls: One of the best in the state! A further drive (1.5 hours) but worth it, especially in the rainier months
Redding

We just love our nearest town of Redding. It's not only a hub for outdoor recreation, but also full of unique experiences for our guests. We recommend visiting:
- The famous Sundial Bridge (especially at sunset)
- Turtle Bay Exploration Park
- WaterWorks Park
- Breweries (we love Fall River) and wineries such as Matson Vineyards
- The Public Market (just opened. Offer a very cool vibe, and full of fun dining and drinking spots)
Other Fun

- Shasta Dam: Head south to experience the awe-inspiring scale of California’s largest reservoir at Shasta Dam, where you can take a free guided tour 400 feet underground. It also offers a stunning "Three Shastas" vista: Shasta Dam, Shasta Lake, and the snow-capped peak of Mt. Shasta.
- Mt. Shasta City: Or, head north to Mount Shasta City to experience its unique "New Age" charm and eclectic spiritual vibe while enjoying constant, soul-stirring views of the 14,179-foot volcanic peak from nearly every street corner
